Amee’s Therapeutic Values
I believe every child deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and valued. My approach is grounded in creating a supportive environment where children can show up as themselves and feel truly heard.
Child-Centered & Empowerment-Focused Care – I prioritize each child’s voice, honoring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I gently support children in building the confidence and skills to express their needs and advocate for themselves in their relationships and daily lives.
Safety & Trust – Creating a sense of emotional and physical safety is at the heart of my work. I strive to build a space where children feel respected, accepted, and secure enough to explore their inner world at their own pace.
Trauma-Informed & Neurodiversity-Affirming Care – As a neurodivergent therapist, I bring both professional training and lived experience to my work. I recognize how past experiences and individual differences shape how children think, feel, and interact with the world, and I take a compassionate, strengths-based approach that honors each child’s unique way of being.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care – As a queer therapist, I am committed to providing an inclusive, affirming space where children of all identities feel seen, supported, and valued.
A Systems Approach – I understand that a child’s well-being is connected to their relationships and environment. I consider the broader context of family, community, and social influences when supporting each child.
